Western Health's Strategic Plan was developed in 2008 through a collaborative process involving Western Health staff, the Board of Western Health and key community organisations. It set the strategic direction for Western Health and included a number of priority areas and actions to deliver quality health care for people in the West.

In 2011, Western Health staff and Board Members have undertaken a process to refresh the Strategic Plan.
The aim of this process was to:

  • Revisit and refine our overarching Strategic Focus.
  • Identify and document our milestones/achievements against the Strategic Plan to-date.
  • Enhance our focus on existing priorities within the Strategic Plan.
  • Incorporate any priorities that have had a significant focus since the Plan was originally documented.
  • Ensure that our priorities are aligned with current key challenges/opportunities.

Prior to finalisation, our refreshed Strategic Plan was placed on the Western Health intranet and internet sites to allow interested parties to read the document and provide the opportunity to:

  • Highlight any of the content where clarification is required;
  • Give general feedback on whether the document meets the above aims.

Access the draft refreshed Strategic Plan (1599KB).

Thank you to those who provided feedback on the Plan.

The draft Plan will now progress to our Board of Directors for approval and to the Department of Health for comment.

The finalised Plan will be placed on the Western Health intranet and internet sites.
