BreastWest Yum Cha Lunch - Monday 29 October 2007

The 2007 BreastWest Yum Cha lunch raised $17,579 for the BreastWest Special Purpose fund that is used to assist women in Melbourne's West with breast cancer.

Items funded include vouchers for patient transport to medical appointments, $10 - $50; mastectomy bras, $50; prosthesis for a women who has had a mastectomy, $200, through to:

- Running a "cancer survivor" workshop for breast cancer patients, $3,000 each

- Colour doppler machine that is used to check blood flow during breast cancer treatment, $50,000.

Plus additional donations of $5,000 each from Qenos and City West Water to translate and print breast cancer information brochures and booklets and $2,000 from the Zonta Club of Melbourne's West to fund items from the BreastWest Shopping List.

This year's  Yum Cha Lunch will be held at Plume Restaurant in Rosamond Road, Maribyrnong, and is organised by the volunteer BreastWest Fundraising Committee.

Tickets are $50 and tables of 10 are available. Lunch is served at midday and the ticket price includes soft drink and Chinese tea.
