The Clinical Neuropsychology (Adult) Service provides
specialist assessment, diagnosis, management,
counselling and rehabilitation of individuals with neurological disorders and brain impairment. For example individuals
with stroke, dementia and other progressive neurological
conditions such as Parkinson's disease and Multiple
Sclerosis can be referred to the service.
The goal of the service is to work closely with a
multidisciplinary team to assist in the design and evaluation
of specific treatment and management plans for referred
patients.
Information, advice and support is also provided to
staff, patients, carers, community workers and other parties
regarding the nature and management of neurological
conditions.
Services are provided to
- Aged Care Assessment Service (A.C.A.S.)
- Rehabilitation Ward
- Geriatric Evaluation and Management Ward (G.E.M.)
- Secure Geriatric Evaluation Ward (Secure G.E.M.)
- Community Based Rehabilitation Service at Sunshine Hospital and Western Hospital and Williamstown
Hospital on an as needed basis.
