Western Hospital

The Physiotherapy Department at Western Hospital is
committed to providing clinical and academic excellence in
acute care.

There has been more recent growth in physiotherapy outpatient programs for chronic disease management as well the establishment of a primary contact physiotherapy service alongside orthopaedic surgeons.

The Department is comprised of ~22 Physiotherapists.

The hospital has a large outpatient service including

• orthopaedic
• pulmonary
• diabetes and cardiac rehabilitation
• heart failure rehabilitation
• transplant patient rehabilitation.

 

 

 

 

Sunshine Hospital

The Physiotherapy Department at Sunshine Hospital is
committed to providing clinical and academic excellence in physiotherapy care by responding to the changing needs of
our community.

The Department is comprised of ~45 Physiotherapists.
The staffing structure provides ample senior supervision
with an emphasis on professional development in a friendly
and stimulating environment.

 

The Williamstown Hospital

The Physiotherapy Department comprises ~10 physiotherapy
staff members covering both acute and subacute care. There
are close links with Sunshine Hospital in relation to subacute care.
The Allied Health team work very closely at this site and cater for the needs of the local community. The services at Williamstown have grown more recently in relation to expansion of orthopaedic surgery as well as an expansion of centre and home based rehabilitation services.
