Palliative Care team provides services to Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown campuses.
The Consultancy Service cross's all campuses and provides Palliative Care expertise to Western Health inpatients, and liaises closely with the community agencies to ensure smooth transition of care into the home setting, this collaboration has been strengthened by the introduction of the consultancy outreach service.
The inpatient and day hospice units are located at Sunshine Hospital. The 10-bed inpatient Unit provides end of life care and symptom management to palliative patients of the Western region.
The Mercy and Western Day Hospice is also located at Sunshine Hospital and operates on Tuesday and Thursday the day hospice aims to provide day care support to patients from the Western region - this is a collaborative service with Mercy Western Palliative Care.
