What is Western Health Outpatients?
The Western Health Outpatient Service represents the single largest gateway to our health service, accounting for approximately 150,000 episodes of care annually.
The Western Health Outpatient Services:
- Are conducted at Footscray and Sunshine Hospital campuses
- Offer over 100 specialist clinics across a range of specialties
Outpatient services have three main functions:
- To provide access into or screening for acute and community health services
- To provide specialist clinic advice for patients, general physicians and other specialists; and
- To provide specialist follow up treatment for post-surgical and post in-patients
