Orthopaedic Services

Western Health's Orthopaedic unit provides a general paediatric orthopaedic and adult trauma care at care at Sunshine Hospital and specialist limb reconstruction care at the Royal Children's Hospital. Our team of specialists are directly responsible for the supervision, management of fracture clinics, provide consultative care for the common orthopaedic conditions of childhood and be responsible for the overall management of adult orthopaedic trauma..

General elective orthopaedic surgery is predominantly performed at the Sunshine campus in order to affect a transfer of paediatric orthopaedic surgery back into the community whilst limb reconstructive surgery would be performed at the Royal Children's Hospital.
