The 2 West provides an excellent service both to the inpatient population of Western Health. ADMISSIONS PATIENT JOURNEY

All patients attending Western Health 3A admitted through Emergency or patient's requiring to stay longer to recovery from surgery.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours on Ward 2 West are between 2pm & 8pm, if visitors are wanting to visit outside of these hours they are advised to speak with the nurse in charge

Admission

The patient will be met by a member of the nursing team whose role is to monitor the patient from admission to discharge and to ensure that they receive the right care whilst at Western Health.
Nursing staff will discuss with the patient their medical condition ensuring that nothing has changed significantly since the patient last admission.

2 West is a 20 bed Head & Neck/ENT, Faciomax, Neurosurgery and Plastics which caters for both elective and emergency procedures and incorporates an adult case mix. This includes:

Neck Dissection

DISCHARGE PROCESS

Prior to discharge, patients will receive from the Discharge nurse their post operative care information; follow up appointments and an education pamphlet. Once the patient is ready and a friend/relative has arrived they will then be discharged. All patients should be discharged by 10am
