Adult Audiology

Adult Audiology Services are only available at
WESTERN HOSPITAL.

Adult Outpatients:

All Audiology outpatients must come via the ENT Clinic at Western Hospital, unless otherwise negotiated with the Audiologist or Speech Pathology Manager.

All other outpatients and community patients SHOULD be referred to local audiology services.

Adult Inpatients:

Only Western Hospital inpatients can be referred to this service.
The Audiologist is available on a Thursday afternoon to see Western Hospital inpatients.

SUNSHINE HOSPITAL and WILLIAMSTOWN HOSPITAL INPATIENTS SHOULD be referred to local audiology services.

Paediatric Audiology

Paediatric Audiology Services are only available at
SUNSHINE HOSPITAL

Paediatric Audiologists provide comprehensive assessment
of children's hearing, middle ear status, and often speech
perception and auditory processing skills.

The Children's Audiology Department at Sunshine Hospital
offers a range of diagnostic audiology services for children
from birth to 16 years of age.

We can provide:

  • Routine Audiometry
  • Middle Ear Testing
  • Visual Response Audiometry, and
  • Neonatal Testing (ABR)

The Audiologist also works as a member of the Learning
Difficulties Clinic (for school age children) and provides
assessments for the Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT)
Outpatients Clinic at Sunshine Hospital.

If required, the Audiologist is able to refer to additional
services such as Speech Pathology the ENT clinic at the
hospital.
