Youth Outreach team Achievements
Research projects between Orygen Youth Heath and YOT included:
- A chroming research project delivering CBT based interventions to young people experiencing both drug
and alcohol and mental health problems
- Dual diagnosis initiative with Orygen Youth Health to streamline assessments for clients of either service
incorporating a mental health tool in YOT assessment ensuring access to appropriate services - this project
involved YOT delivering secondary consultations and support to young people with mental health issues in
the EPIC residential setting around AOD issues.
- Hep B initiative that involved setting up our service to offer every client of both YOT and EPIC Hep B vaccinations to improve their health outcomes.

The Youth Outreach team (YOT) is a team of Drug and Alcohol clinicians, including counsellors, nurses, and social workers
who can provide support for Young People:
- Aged between 10 & 21
- Working, living or studying in the Western suburbs of Melbourne
- Who have any concerns which are related to using
alcohol and other drugs
- And who need support to make informed and realistic decisions around their alcohol and other drug use
YOT can HELP you:
- Through withdrawal/detox, - our service helps people
stop, cut down or simply have a rest from drug use
- With information and referrals about other issues you
may have (eg. Housing, doctors, health, job info, and education)
- At home, during or after school, at work, or any other
place where you feel comfortable
- Support/talk to your friends and other people in your life
