Women's and Children's Services
The women's and children's program at DASWest offers an intensive short-term rehabilitation program for women experiencing alcohol and other problems and their under school aged children, offering them an opportunity to look at their parenting skills and develop a parenting plan to help them deal with the stresses of parenting young children.  Assistance is provided to meet the needs of both the mother and her children (under school aged)

For the past two years we have run at half capacity (offering the program on a day basis to more stable women in the community) and with the grant from DHS have also been able to refurbish one of the homes used to house these women for their stay.

Women and their children are helped to feel safe and secure while simultaneously having the opportunity to develop skills to achieve behavioural change and explore issues that have an impact on their ability to reduce the harm of substance use and misuse.
