Strategic Vision

Background
Western Health's Board signed off  Western Health's Strategic Directions Framework which began development in the latter part of last year. The framework outlines the strategic priority areas and objectives at a high level, and describes the process to engage all Western Health staff and stakeholders - in helping to set the future direction for Western Health.

A series of steering groups and project teams have been set up which will provide an opportunity for all Western Health staff to be involved in setting the strategic direction.

Strategic planning and alignment across and throughout all of Western Health is regarded as a critical success factor in the effective and efficient running of our health service.

The following set of strategic priorities has been agreed:

Safe and Effective Patient Care

People and Culture

Community and Partnerships

Research and Learning

Self-sufficiency and Sustainability

The strategic priorities are very consistent with the previous set that Western Health has been working to. This demonstrates that what we are working towards now is consistent and aligned with the past. However, the structured approach to alignment including: consultation and engagement processes, and ultimately the detail developed under each of the areas, will be more robust (relevant and integrated), monitored and reported on, and actively managed moving forward.
