DASWest provides a diverse range of services and programs for individuals and their families affected by drug and alcohol related problems. DASWest staff offer non-judgmental advice that is both practical and flexible. We provide treatment based on the principles of harm minimisation, through a wide range of treatment options that recognise and cater for the diverse range of individuals and groups within the community. This is done in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment where everyone is viewed equally, regardless of the issues associated with their substance use. The DASWest approach results in quality care tailored to meet the holistic needs of the individual, while working towards alleviating the problems associated with substance use. Its work incorporates current best practice in the area of substance use and is designed as a collaborative community response. DASWest's services and programs are designed to meet the needs of specific groups within the community. Accordingly, four broad areas have been established: Young People, Adults, Women & Children, and persons with a diagnosed mental illness who are also substance dependent. Specially tailored programs designed to meet the diverse range of needs of individuals within each group. DASWest Services encompass early intervention and prevention, counselling and support, specialist home and residential withdrawal units and pharmacotherapy programs. DAS West offers services from two locations in Footscray and one in Sunshine, as well as its outreach services. |
