Western Health has been allocated xx in the State Budget to construct a new radiotherapy  facility.

Radiotherapy Services Fast Facts

A new radiotherapy facility will be the first in Melbourne's West reducing the need for public patients to have to travel to the city or Geelong for radiotherapy treatment

Up to 900 patients per year will be treated when the facility becomes operational in 2011

These new public services will be provided in conjunction with the Peter MacCallum Cance Centre

Capital costs are $40.5m and will include four bunkers, two of which will house linear accelerators in the first instance, with a further two linear accelerators coming on line in the future to meet growing demand.
