Secondary School Work Experience Program 2012
The Western Health School Work Experience Program provides students with an opportunity to gain an insight into the healthcare industry. This program is co-ordinated by People Services at Western Hospital.
The program is only available to students undertaking Year 10. Students participating in the program are given the opportunity to spend five days working in various departments/wards within Western or Sunshine Hospitals to observe and participate in that work areas' daily functions. The program co-ordinator will make every attempt to place the students in a different area each day so that they are given a variety of experiences.
Please note that we are unable to take placements in the following areas:
- Emergency Department
- Finance
- Pharmacy
- Information Technology
- Allied Health - Social Work, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Podiatry, Dietetics and Nutrition
