Chief Registrar - Surgery

 

Description

The General Surgery Unit is staffed by 17 visiting surgeons, a Chief Registrar, 11 college appointed and 9 hospital appointed registrars/SHMOs. Registrars rotate through General Breast and Endocrine, Upper GI, Colo-Rectal, Williamstown General and Sunshine General and Plastics. Operating theatres are sited at all three campuses of the network (Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown) and senior registrars are rotated to Goulburn Valley, Werribee Mercy and Western Private hospitals.
The department has the following positions:

Chief Surgical Registrar - 1 x  position. Suitable for a senior trainee who wants to take responsibility for direct patient care and for the supervision and development of junior colleagues. The applicant will be based in the unit relevant to their surgical interest, but will assist in the running and staffing of the whole general surgical program.
