Welcome to the first Office for Research e-News. This e-News aims to facilitate effective communications between the Office and WH researchers. Please send us your feedback and suggestions to better serve the needs of the Western Health research community.
RESEARCH ETHICS
- Please take note of your obligations and ethics requirements before commencing any research projects regardless how simple it might be. Browse our website for details or call us for further assistance
- Ethics Submission deadline for 2012 - Submission: 2nd Monday monthly | Review: 3rd Thursday monthly (except November due to Research Week)
RESEARCH FACILITATION
- Research Week 2011 was a great success, thanks to contributions from everyone involved, see for detailed report and prize winners. The 2010 WH Research Report is also available, click to download
- The Office is working closely with the newly established Western Health Foundation in supporting our researchers. Stay tune for future announcements
WHAT'S NEW IN 2012?
- Office for Research website is currently under reviewed and being revamped in to ensure an improvement regarding ethics and research governance information
- Western CHRE Seminar - Monthly seminar organised by Melbourne University, Victoria University & Western Health at Western CHRE on every 3rd Thursday of the month at 4-5pm with networking opportunities
TO DO IN 10 MINUTES
The Victorian Clinician Research Network (VCRN) is currently surveying hospital research-qualified staff who are currently involved in research or have been involved in research in the past. The survey identifies barriers and enablers of clinical research and will provide our Office details of the WH responses to assist us in identifying gaps for forward planning. The survey should take less than 10 minutes, click to assist
SEASON'S GREETINGS
The Office for Research will be closed from midday Friday 23rd December 2011 and re-open at 9am on Monday 9th January 2012
