Clinical Support

  • A team of midwifery educators, clinical midwife consultants and clinical coaches are available to guide and support in the clinical setting
  • Support, counsel and mentoring from the Clinical Coordinator
  • Extensive educational opportunities

Study Days

Eight study days are offered to Graduates during their program. These days will provide education to the graduates to enhance their knowledge and bridge the theory to practice gap, ensuring competencies are met and their practice development addressed.

Mentor Support

An experienced midwife will give support when the graduate commences the Graduate Program.

Two supernumerary shifts will be provided at the commencement of each new rotation.

A further two supernumerary days at the commencement of the Special Care Nursery rotation.

The supernumerary days will:

  • Provide guidance in providing maternity care
  • Provide the graduate with feedback on their progress
  • Orientate the graduate to the area
  • Assist the graduate in applying theories to quality maternity care
  • Complete the graduate's appraisal in consultation with the team
