The ICU at Western Health is a Level III tertiary referral centre that provides care for approximately 900 critically ill adults each year, in a culturally diverse community. The ICU is currently funded for 10 ICU beds and provides care for a combination of intensive care and high dependency patients, utilising the 14 bed bays available.
Western Health has 3 Emergency Departments, 3 Theatre Complexes, a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and 600 ward beds across the network. As well as receiving referrals from within the network we also accept patients from other regional and metropolitan health services.
Western Health is a teaching and training hospital. The ICU runs an accredited training program for Intensive Care Registrar and there are a range of training and employment opportunities for nursing staff. Nursing Programs - to link to the second page
