The Radiology Department is accredited by the RANZCR for 11 Registrar and 2 Advanced Trainee positions.

Western Health Radiology equipment is all digital, with fully integrated PACS with Teleradiology capabilities.  The Health Service operates 3.0 T and 1.5 T MRI, 2 digital mammography units, state of the art image intensifiers and three (3) 64 slice CTs between the 2 Campuses in Footscray and Sunshine.  Western Health offers 5th Year Training with excellent exposure in CT CA, cardiac, GIT and CNS MRI.

The following positions are available for 2013 (Commencement Date - 04/02/13):

Registrar - 2 x positions (Suitable for applicants who are at least 2 years post MBBS).  Senior residents and registrars with broad clinical experience are preferable.  The position is a yearly renewable contract for a total of 5 years of RANZCR accredited training.

Advanced Trainee - 2 x positons (Suitable for radiology registrars who have completed at least 4 years of accredited training and has passed the Part II RANZCR examination at commencement).  The position is based in the Radiology Departments at Western and Sunshine Hospitals with no external rotations.
                                    BodyImaging Advanced Trainee involves at least 3-4 sessions of supervised MRI; body CT research
                                    and access to CT coronary angiography, CT virtual colonography and intervention.
                                    MRI Advanced Trainee involves at least 6-7 sessions of supervised MRI with a broad spectrum of MRI 
                                    including but not limited to MSK, Neuroradiologyk Breast and CRC staging, as well as access to CT
                                    coronary angiography and both vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology.
