Description

Sunshine hospital is one of the busiest birthing centres in Australia and the largest level 2 obstetric hospital  in the state. Each year approximately 4,500 women give birth at Sunshine. 

The service is supported by 5 full time  Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, 12 Visiting Medical Officers providing specialist services, 12 Registrars (two of which rotates to Sunshine from Royal Women's Hospital), 7 Hospital Medical Officers and over 100 midwives. A diploma course is also available for GP trainees. 

The Registrar positions are suitable for recognition as a Training position by RANZCOG. 

Registrar are provided with dedicated training which includes sessions in a 'state-of-the-art simulation centre used to improve skills in laparoscopic surgery and obstetric emergencies.

The Department has the following Positions available for 2013:

Obstetric and Gynaecology  Registrars10 x Positions.  These positions provide a wide range of experience in obstetrics including perinatal medicine and ultrasound, in general gynaecology, laparoscopic surgery, infertility and gynaecological oncology.
