Applications are welcome, from eligible final year medical students, to join the team at Western Health in 2013.

In 2013, Western Health will employ 65 interns (with another intern position on rotation from the Royal Melbourne Hospital). In this first year, each intern will rotate through five terms. The majority of Interns will rotate to a rural hospital in Wodonga, Mildura or Wangaratta. Most rural rotations provide experience in core areas of Medicine, Surgery and Emergency Medicine.

The Western Health has reviewed the process for Intern Applications and the following will apply in 2012:
Pool 1 Applicants (Application Reference No: 10746)

Will need to submit their application on line to Western Health, however you will not be required for an interview.

All applicants in this pool of PMCV eligible candidates will be ranked in accordance with the following:
On Line Selection Criteria / CV / Referee Assessments / Academic Results.
Pool 2 Applicants (Application Reference No: 10745)

Will need to submit their application on line to Western Health. Applicants will be shortlisted to attend an interview.

Applicants who are Pool 2 PMCV eligible candidates, will be shortlisted and advised to book an interview via the On Line Recruitment Process following review of the your Application to Western Health this year.

Only those who have been shortlisted during the Recruitment Process will be requested to proceed to the Interview Stage.

All Shortlisted Applicants proceeding to the Interview stage will be requested to book an On Line Interview Date and Time.

Telephone Interviews may be considered, however, Western Health's strong preference is for face-to-face Interviews.

Interview Dates for shortlisted Pool 2 Applicants will be conducted over a two (2) week period only
- Monday 18th June to Friday 29th June 2012. -
The Interview Structure follows a One-On-One Format - one interviewer / one applicant.

Interviews will be scheduled for 15 minutes per applicant.

Intern Applicants should organise to arrive for their appointment at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time.

Applicants from Universities which don't release academic results to this Health Service are required to bring a copy of their most recent academic transcript to the interview.
